We're in the business of enhancing communities. This philosophy extends from the superior design and construction of our facilities, to our support of sustainable design and brownfield redevelopment, to our commitment to build retail buildings that all stakeholders support and welcome. At Tartan, we are the principal investors in our projects, and this means we are long-term investors in the communities we work in. With over 85 percent of our developments located on in-fill sites, we are proud to say that we are contributing to the renaissance of downtown centers.
Sustainable Design
We believe that energy conscious design is good business. We work to incorporate sustainable design solutions in all of our projects. As a member of the United States Green Building Council, we support the implementation of design and construction standards to decrease the impact of our industry on the environment. Tartan has several environmentally conscious projects including:
The Von Lee, Bloomington, Indiana. The first LEED-registered development on the Indiana University campus; historic theater rehabilitated into mixed-use retail and office development. Completed April 2007.
701 South Main Street, Normal, Illinois. Proposed five-story mixed-use retail and residential project adjacent to the campus of Illinois State University.
