Douglas Reichl | Founder and President
Douglas Reichl, Founder and President of Tartan Realty Group, Inc., has extensive experience in tenant representation and project development. Since founding the firm, he has developed numerous strip centers and mixed-use projects throughout the Midwest. His most recent project is the redevelopment of an historic movie theater in downtown Bloomington, Indiana into a LEED-certified three-story office/retail building.
Currently, Mr. Reichl is involved as the leasing agent in Southgate Market, one of the largest retail developments currently under construction in Chicago’s South Loop. Anticipated to open November 2006, Southgate is a 310,000 sf LEED-certified multi-level shopping center anchored by Whole Foods and includes DSW, Linens ‘n Things, Cost Plus, Office Depot, PetsMart, LA Fitness, Panera Bread, and Starbucks. Additionally, he is part of the leasing and development team for Chatham Marketplace, a 50-acre brownfield development on Chicago’s south side that will be anchored by Lowe’s Home Improvement and include an Office Depot, Bank of America, and Aldi Foods.
Mr. Reichl is a member of a three-member brokerage team to oversee the expansion of Lowe’s Home Improvement in the Chicago metro area and is individually responsible for their expansion in Central and Southern Illinois. He has completed transactions in Lincolnwood, Arlington Heights, New Lenox, Orland Park, Carol Stream, Aurora, Springfield, Quincy, and Portage. He has assisted Potbelly Sandwich Works with their Central Illinois expansion, completing transactions in Bloomington, Normal, and Champaign. Additionally, Mr. Reichl has represented Jewel/Osco with their relocation in Bloomington and new locations for Osco in Addison, Urbana, Dixon, Freeport, and Danville.
Mr. Reichl brings to his clients significant experience in working with different municipalities throughout Illinois. He has been directly and peripherally involved with environmental remediation, multi-parcel land assemblage, along with negotiating municipal assistance in both Sales Tax Sharing agreements and Tax Increment Financing (TIF), site development agreements, and various forms of easement agreements.
Prior to founding Tartan Realty Group, Inc., Mr. Reichl spent 14 years with HSA Commercial, Inc., where he served as Principal, Executive Vice President, and Managing Director of Retail Services.

Wilhelm O. Kreuzer | Financing and Investment Manager
Wilhelm O. Kreuzer, principal at Tartan Realty Group, has been actively involved in real estate for over twelve years. He has extensive knowledge and experience in practically every aspect of owning and developing commercial real estate.
Kreuzer specializes in analyzing real estate for financing and investment purposes. He is also intricately involved in the real estate transactional component of deals including the negotiation of purchase agreements, operating agreements, joint venture agreements, loan documents, TIF documents, and leases. In addition, Kreuzer is involved in the asset management of the company owned and managed real estate.
Kreuzer’s entrepreneurial personality has allowed him to successfully spearhead developments for his and other investor’s real estate portfolio. Specifically, Kreuzer was the lead principal in the redeveloped the historic landmarked Von Lee Theatre, a LEED registered project that is anchored by Indiana University, as well as the development of The Flats on Kirkwood, mixed use building, and several other projects.
Since joining Tartan in 2004, Mr. Kreuzer has financed over 107 million dollars in commercial real estate for the firm and its clients. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kreuzer worked at HSA Commercial as the Senior Vice President of Finance, where he assisted in financing over 18 million square feet of real estate valued at over one billion dollars. He is a licensed real estate broker in Illinois and Indiana, holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, and is a Lambda Alpha International Member (The Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics). Kreuzer received his Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate and Finance from Indiana University. |

Michael Schertler | Leasing and Tenant Representation
Michael Schertler joined Tartan Realty Group in April of 2003, where he is involved in product leasing and tenant representation for Tartan Realty Group, Inc. He represents Potbelly Sandwich Works in their expansion in the Chicago neighborhoods, south suburban, and downstate Illinois markets. In addition to Potbelly, Michael represents Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) and Filene’s Basement in their Chicago expansion. In 2006, Mr. Schertler has completed deals with Potbelly in Chicago (Belmont and Sheffield), Chicago (Harlem and 58th), Naperville, Bolingbrook and with DSW in Killdeer and Northbrook.
Along with tenant representation, Mr. Schertler is currently involved in leasing multiple projects throughout the Chicago Metro and suburban areas. Among the projects are a 50-acre development located at 83rd & Stewart known as Chatham Market, a 310,000 square foot development located at Roosevelt Road and Canal Street in the South Loop known as Southgate Market, and two 20-acre developments in Oswego and Elgin.
Prior to joining Tartan, Mr. Schertler spent five years in the oil and gas industry in an accounting capacity. He holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Illinois and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Michael Chin | Leasing
Michael Chin joined Tartan Realty Group in June 2006 and assists with all aspects of tenant leasing. Prior to joining the team, he worked as a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Chinese and Asian Studies. While at Notre Dame he was a four-year monogram winner for the Fighting Irish hockey team. After graduating from college, Mr. Chin was a professional hockey player in the East Coast Hockey League, where he spent most of his time in South Carolina.

Tom Jednorowicz |
Tom’s executive career spans 14 years in developing and executing strategic, large-scale retail expansions. With a focus on start-up companies, his responsibilities involves all aspects of new store development, including financing, market selection and planning, site selection, architecture and design, construction, and facilities management.
As the former Chief Development Officer with Potbelly Sandwich Works, Tom led the expansion of the concept from ten units in one market to more than 100 units in eight markets in three years’ time. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the development of the company’s long-range plans and in creating all internal processes and structure necessary to accomplish the company’s growth objectives.
In addition to working with Potbelly, Tom has also worked with some of the top US food and retail concepts including Panera Bread, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Chart House, Xando Coffee and Bar, Cosi Sandwich Bar, Kinko’s Copies, and Boston Market. Among his accomplishments, Tom led the integration of the Xando and Cosi concepts into one merged brand, directed Einstein Bros. Bagels in a three-year, 400-store expansion, and assisted several start-up concepts in creating scalable platforms for accelerated growth plans. He has also been an advisor to several boards and has played key roles in the raising of capital in both public and private sectors.
Tom holds Bachelor of Arts and Master’s of Business Administration degrees from The University of Connecticut.

Michele Burck | Property Management & Controller
Michele Burck joined Tartan Realty Group in 2006, where she brings thirteen years’ of prior real estate accounting experience. Ms. Burck manages all accounting responsibilities including cash management, budgeting, financial reporting and analysis. She also manages and maintains the tenant relations for the Illinois retail buildings.
Prior to joining Tartan Realty Group, Ms. Burck experiences include overseeing all accounting aspects for Trammell Crow Company’s commercial development in Itasca, and working as Assistant Controller for Sparks and Associates, a managing agent for 12 Oaks Properties in Chicago’s northwest suburbs. She also worked in the Real Estate Audit and Tax Departments of KPMG Peat Marwick. Ms. Burck received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Northeastern Illinois University. |
